Take a cruise on the canal. Great

History
Visit the excavation site in
Kalkriese where ancient German
tribes defeated three Roman
legions in 9AD. (The famous battle
of the Teutoburg Forest).
Basket Weaving
Learn an age old craft complete
with instruction. It might become your
new hobby.

Bake Bread
Bake your own bread in a historical stone oven.

Carnival Procession
On 'Rosenmontag' (two days before
'Ash Wednesday') a unique pageant
is held in the streets of Recke which attracts thousands of visitors.		 Recke Cycling Day
Every year the first Sunday in May sees the
whole parish get onto their bicycles
and ride round the town. Great fun for the whole family and for years now an integral

The Parish Fair
Held on the third weekend in September
this fair lasts for three delightfully long days.
Lots of rides and an altogether jolly atmosphere make this a very popular event in the region.
